In the spring of 2021 I created a one-size-fits-all animated still image campaign concept to promote the postponed 2020 Euro football tournament. Shooting hi-res still image sequences against a greenscreen would allow us to brand the footage in any style we chose, and for any market and brand.
We shot the images over three days at Infinity Studios in Stockholm, with photographer Johan Annerfelt. The hi res image sequences were then uploaded to our motion graphics team at HACCHI in London.
Due to a family member testing positive for Covid-19, I was unable to attend the shoot at Infinity Studios, Stockholm, as per the original plan. Luckily, and as a world first, Phase One cameras, who had just released a beta version of their Capture One software for remote monitoring of photoshoots, gave us permission to test it on our project. This meant that I could sit in my apartment in Malta and partake in the whole production process. I had two web cameras mounted on the stage, plus real-time access to the photographers laptop view, plus a direct voice link to the studio. It worked like a dream!
Three different brands came on board, requesting a total of eleven markets, with edits for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 seconds in five languages.
The results were colourful, powerful and playful, and delivered high-impact assets for our online campaign platform.
Shot in hi-res, the print quality still images were used in static banners and print
